What to Expect From a Lactation Consultation

    Assessment

    We will review your birth details and medical history and perform a thorough clinical assessment of both you and your baby.

    Hands-on help

    Learn effective latch, positioning, and feeding techniques with guidance from your lactation consultant. During your visit, we’ll use a medical-grade scale to check breast milk transfer and track your baby’s overall growth. I can also provide support with breast pumps, flange fitting, and guidance on introducing a bottle.

    Personalized Plan

    I’ll answer all your questions and provide a simple feeding plan that aligns with your feeding goals, giving you the confidence to care for your little one.

    Ongoing Support

    I’ll be available for questions regarding your care plan and will check in with you after our appointment to make sure your feeding plan is working well.

    I have partnered with The Lactation Network and Wildflower Health. Many insurances are covered and will allow up to 6 insurance covered visits.

    If your insurance is not covered through The Lactation Network or Wildflower Health, call the number on the back of your insurance card to verify how many lactation visits are covered under your plan.

    I will provide a superbill after our visit for you to request insurance reimbursement.

  • Sit down one-on-one with an IBCLC to talk about what to expect before the big day! We will talk through your medical history to determine any risk factors that could impact your breastfeeding journey and discuss your birth plan. I will go over the basics of breastfeeding including position/latch, what to expect in the first few weeks, how to know if your baby is getting enough milk and most importantly… when to reach out for help! If you need assistance obtaining a breast pump through insurance, I can guide you through the process and help you evaluate your options. I’ll answer all your questions and make sure you have everything you need to prepare for your little one’s arrival. My self-pay clients are eligible for a discounted rate for a postpartum visit once your baby arrives.

  • I provide all self pay clients with a superbill to pursue reimbursement for our visit from their insurance company.

    • Follow-up 60-minute visit: $175
